GUTOM is responsible for the production of cardboard trays based on the Paperseal® system developed by G. Mondini SpA and graphic packaging in Europe. This solves a key industry problem while retaining all the benefits of the standard plastic tray MAP process.

For the production of the packaging, up to 80% less plastic used. Instead of a plastic tray, a dimensionally stable tray made of cardboard is used.

Production at GUTOM is tasked with providing competent advice to customers in the food industry and the NON-FOOD sector, sharing experiences and jointly designing the right cardboard tray. On the basis of custom-made samples, trial runs with original products can be organised. The products are fully sealed and packaged in a protective atmosphere so that best-before tests and the handling of the new packaging can be realistically tested.

By using various recyclable film materials, the packaging is suitable for cheese, fresh meat, fresh fish, snacks, frozen products, salads, fruits and ready meals that are heated in the microwave or oven.

It is also suitable for NON-FOOD products. A corresponding note on the packaging shows the consumer that the film and cardboard can be easily separated from each other and thus recycled optimally.
